I've just started my 40th and final year in the fire service, now in the West Midlands.

Muck Grime & Sweat is my first book about my early life and career in the UK fire service in the late 1980s

The book is written using terminology appropriate to the time, but is now either inappropriate or has been changed or updated, which I wholeheartly support.

All events in the book are real but names may have been changed. Names that have not been changed are used with the written permission of the individual.
